5 reasons why Soccajoeys Australia gets your child moving!

As parents, your greatest desire is for your little ones to be happy campers! By giving them the best nutrition and sending them to the best schools to gain a holistic education – you are halfway there in keeping them healthy and curious! Now all that remains, is to support the natural movement of children that would encourage their intelligence and development of their will. Football or Socca as it is lovingly known by Soccajoeys Australia uses football to nurture the child’s natural developmental milestones.

Established in 2007, the Soccajoeys Australia programmes are designed to introduce your child to the early learning principles of soccer, along with increasing their physical and social development including coordination and communication.

In partnership with WriteHaus Asia (A Singapore based creative agency), Soccajoeys is ready to ignite the joy of being a kid!

1. Even little ones can play soccer!

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” – Fred Rogers

With its Minis Soccer Programme for kids aged 2.5 to 3 years old, Soccajoeys believes it’s never too early to engage children in sports, as it promotes healthy living skills. Conducted in their preschool, a familiar and safe learning environment, toddlers are introduced to simple soccer drills which elevate their motor skills (holding a ball, running and kicking a ball) and social skills (listening to instructions, helping to put away the balls after each session). At the end of the session, little ones get a stamp for doing a great job!

2. Improves a child’s confidence and self-esteem

“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” – Margaret Mead

During a child’s growing years, it is important to promote a positive self-esteem for a confident and happy kid. At Soccajoeys, every kid is granted an equal chance to participate in their learning, for example, everyone gets to have a go at scoring goals! Our Soccajoeys coaches are trained to provide continuous encouragement and guidance through positive reinforcement (using positive language) which motivates the children to keep trying! Over time, children learn the basics of the program, discover their strengths and are challenged by the coaches to do better each time!

3. Everyone is a Soccajoeys Kid!

“A child is an uncut diamond.” – Austin O’Malley

Everyone loves kicking a ball around for fun! Soccer is a game of intelligence and is a simple, fuss-free sport that excites young children because they can score goals and play as a team! In the Digital Age, it is a great way to get children outdoors for an active lifestyle as the continuous kicking and running stimulate cardiovascular fitness, develop coordination, better attention and listening skills, bodily control, balance, and gross motor skills.

4. Promotes social interaction with other children

“Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded.” – Jess Lair

Soccajoeys understands the value of teamwork and how important it is for it to be instilled from a tender age. Soccer is a team sport where every child must come together and work as a team to be successful. They are equipped with social skill through team interaction and individual participation. Sports is more fun when enjoyed together!

5. Non-competitive Sports

“I continue to believe that if children are given the necessary tools to succeed, they will succeed beyond their wildest dreams!” – David Vitter

Soccer welcomes everyone to play! Soccajoeys teaches children that soccer can be enjoyed by both girls and boys at any age. The programme remains non-competitive because it focuses on cultivating the interest in sports with the children. While competitions challenge the skills of children as they progress, Socaajoeys believes in laying a strong foundation at this age before they are introduced to competitive sports.

With over 600,000 children successfully engaged with Soccajoeys since 2007, it’s an excellent child development program that is certain to bring smiles and excitement to your children!
