Here’s What You Can Get for S$1,149 That’s Not the Latest iPhone

Every diehard Apple fan/Tech geek knows the significance of September.

For many years, Apple has held its largest keynote event with the highest visibility in September. In 2019, the tech giant stays true to its tradition, where it announced its official release of iPhone 11 and Apple Watch Series 5 on Sep 10th.

The highlight of the event was definitely the latest iPhones, successors to the phenomenally packed iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. The most touted feature in this year’s iPhone lineups has got to be the new triple-camera system on the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max because more cameras = better resolution, you see. The new models come with brand new Midnight Green colour, and are slightly heavier and chunkier than their predecessors. The triple-camera system comprises of three 12MP cameras, that allows better focus and field of view. The design however, has gotten lots of flak, but we will get to that later.

The iPhone11 on the other hand is the most normal in the hood, with only 2 cameras that include wide and ultra-wide lenses. It is priced from SS$1,149 and is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage capacities. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are priced from S$1,649 and S$1,799 respectively in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storages.

Apparently in spite the exorbitant price of the latest iPhone, it is still cheaper than the iPhone XR launched in 2018. Apple has experienced a decline in iPhone sales in 2019, and this could be a strategy to bring the sales numbers up. Maybe we don’t really have to sell our kidneys for a gadget.

S$1,149 is a lot of moolah and it makes us wonder – just what can we buy with this amount in Singapore?
